The POS Ecosystem is a mission-critical solution built to withstand the high-pressure, fast-paced environment of the modern F&B and retail industry. As part of the core product team, I owned the UX/UI enhancements for specific, high-impact modules—specifically the Self-Service Kiosk interface and digital ordering workflows. The overarching goal was to design an interface so intuitive that it reduces cashier training time to near-zero, while simultaneously providing a consumer-facing kiosk experience that successfully diverts queue traffic and increases average order value.

⚡ High-Speed Cashier Workflows Optimized the core POS terminal interface for speed and legibility, utilizing large touch targets and categorized layouts to help cashiers process high volumes of orders during peak hours without hesitation.
🖥️ Self-Service Kiosk Experience Designed an intuitive, visually rich self-ordering kiosk interface. It empowers customers to independently browse, customize their meals, and pay, significantly reducing counter queues and easing the burden on staff.
📊 Operational Reporting & Data Streamlined the reporting dashboards, translating complex daily transaction data into scannable, actionable insights for restaurant managers and business owners.

Problem
Statement
During peak dining hours, F&B venues face massive operational bottlenecks. Legacy POS systems often have cluttered, confusing interfaces that slow down cashiers, leading to long queues and frustrated customers. Furthermore, relying solely on human cashiers limits transaction volume. The business needed a way to accelerate the checkout process at the counter while simultaneously opening up a secondary, automated channel (Kiosks) to handle the overflow of customers.

Solution
Statement
Working within the product team, I focused on simplifying complex workflows across two distinct touchpoints. For the Cashier POS, we prioritized a "touch-first" architecture, reducing the number of taps required to complete an order or apply a discount. For the Self-Service Kiosk, I designed a consumer-grade, highly visual experience that guides the user through up-sells and deep item customization without making them feel overwhelmed. This dual-strategy successfully distributed the crowd and dramatically improved total order throughput.

Competitor
Analysis
Before refining the kiosk and ordering workflows, I evaluated existing F&B hardware interfaces in the market.
Legacy Systems (e.g., Micros, Oracle POS): Incredibly powerful but suffer from outdated, text-heavy interfaces. They require weeks of staff training and are highly prone to human error during complex customized orders.
Generic Cloud POS: Modern UI, but often lack the deep customization and robust multi-modifier flows required for complex F&B businesses in the UAE.
💡 The Strategic Pivot: We aimed for the perfect hybrid. I focused on designing a highly legible, dark/light mode responsive component library that packs the power of a legacy system into an interface that a brand-new cashier—or a hungry customer at a kiosk—can understand in seconds.

User
Persona
While the Kiosk serves the everyday customer, I knew the primary POS terminal had to be designed for the stressed frontline worker.
